Well, it’s the beginning of the 16th week, and you’re now the size of an avocado. I guess that makes sense because we had mommy’s famous guacamole yesterday with, you guess it, tacos. Seriously, I can’t wait for you to be old enough to try her guac, because it’s amazing.

So now you’re about 4-5 inches long and you’re able to move your arms and legs now. My book says that you’re about to start playing soccer with mom’s organs, so hopefully you’re good at scoring goals. It also says your ears are now able to hear our voices, so hopefully you were asleep during the Michigan-Michigan State game yesterday because I may have said a few bad words. It was Michigan’s first loss of the season and we played pretty poorly, so I wasn’t happy.

Also, your eyebrows, eyelashes, and hair are starting to fill in and your taste buds are forming so soon you’ll be able to taste the tacos.

The size of the baby

Mommy is really convinced that you’re a girl…only because of wives tales, like fast heartbeat, bad morning sickness, and carrying you low in her belly. She also had a dream that you were a girl, but we can’t really trust that, since she had a dream that Gavin was going to be an Asian genius. He might turn out to be a genius, but he certainly doesn’t look Asian to me.

We should find out in a couple of weeks whether you’re a boy or a girl, so I can’t wait! We have our next doctor’s appointment next Thursday and there’s a chance we could find out then, so we’ll see.

I’m traveling next weekend for work, so we might not have a Week 17 picture. I’ll be Washington, D.C. for the Colts-Redskins Sunday night game. Verizon is doing a promotion for NFL RedZone because it’s becoming half price that day, so we’re doing activations at the Redskins, Giants, and Patriots games that day. I’m in charge of coordinating the Redskins activation. I’m looking forward to seeing a game in the largest stadium in the NFL, FedEx Field. Plus, it’s against the Colts, so it should be fun.

Keep growing!
